Defining the Terms:
- Crisis Intervention: Based upon Judeo-Christian values, Crisis Intervention includes what
to do and say in the first 3 to 72 hours of a crisis.
- Note: A crisis is not an event; it is one’s overwhelming response to an event or life-
circumstance.
- Training: Beyond imparting skills and knowledge, effective training equips and motivates
others to action and to further research and skills development.
- Consulting: Asking good questions & active listening, consultation helps identify
needs/opportunities and suggests potential resources.
